Description
Mobile anti-X screen specifically designed to protect the physician (primary operator) and their immediate assistant, who work close to the operating table and the patient, thus being highly exposed to scattered radiation from the patient’s body.
Extremely versatile and lightweight, it can be easily positioned close to or above the patient thanks to the special acrylic screen shaping. The lower frame is made of oven-painted steel with epoxy powder coating, making it resistant to impacts and scratches, and allowing easy cleaning and disinfection. The specially shaped lower arms with attached wheels allow smooth positioning under the table without interfering with other equipment or the operators’ feet.
The upper “Acrylic” anti-X screen is of high quality and transparency. Its specific acrylic structure makes it highly resistant to impacts and mechanical stress, ensuring safe use. The edges are ground and rounded. Lead equivalence is 0.50 mm Pb, uniform across the entire surface. It comes with a protective film that must be removed before use. It is recommended to cover the screen with a sterile drape before use.
The “Up & Down” sliding movement of the screen is assisted by two counterbalanced springs, facilitating maneuverability and holding the screen in position once released. Once positioned, the screen must be locked using the dedicated knob. Smooth and precise movement is ensured by stainless steel ball bearings and self-lubricating nylon guides. The acrylic screen measures 116 × 50 cm (H) and can be positioned within a 30 cm “Up & Down” range, from 146 cm fully down to 177 cm fully up.
It is equipped with two lower flaps with 0.50 mm Pb equivalence, one fixed and one sliding, to close any gaps and minimize radiation leakage between the table and the screen.
Movement is facilitated by four swivel wheels with Ø 80 mm in low-friction “Santoprene” material with stainless steel bearings and brackets. Two wheels feature parking brakes.
Maintenance – Cleaning: The screen requires no special periodic maintenance other than functional checks and cleaning of the screen and wheels. For cleaning and disinfecting the lower part, specific products are available from EUROPROTEX Radioprotezione s.r.l. For cleaning the acrylic screen, use alcohol with a soft cloth (other products may cause clouding).
