Description
TFD Foam is a mousse specifically developed for the radioactive decontamination of surfaces used in Nuclear Medicine.
Cleaning action: TFD Foam contains surfactants capable of separating ionic and non-ionic hydrophobic radioactive components from their substrates.
Decontamination: TFD Foam contains organic and inorganic chelating agents that form water-soluble metal complexes that are easily removed. The combined effects of these components allow the treatment of most surfaces requiring decontamination:
-
Organic elements: Tritium, C14
-
Metals: Co60, Tc99m
-
Actinides: Pu239, Pu238
-
Rare earths: Ce144, La140
-
Alkali metals: Cs137
TFD Foam is recommended for materials that cannot be immersed in radioactive decontamination solutions. Supplied in aerosol form, it can be used to decontaminate localized areas. Its stability on both horizontal and vertical surfaces prevents the spread of contamination.
TFD Foam is compatible with many materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, zinc, plastic, rubber, glass, tungsten, etc.
